Fried Van Doorslaer

Fried began his instrument-making journey in 2011 at the Totnes School of Guitar Making, where he built his first acoustic guitar and later crafted a Gibson-style mandolin. Then after four years study graduated from the Newark School of Violin Making in 2016. Post-graduation, he balanced violin setup at Devon Strings with building a Stradivari-modeled cello. After gaining professional workshop experience, he focused on instrument making full time, starting with a commissioned baritone ukulele and then a Panormo-style double bass. Currently, he is working on a gypsy jazz guitar modeled after Mario Maccaferri but plans to return to violin family instruments.
